In 2011 I released "Scotch Heart". It was the beginning of an ongoing fascination with outdated technology in my work. I began to focus upon viewing my reality through the manipulation of analogue devices. "Scotch Heart" was released on cassette by Sweat Lodge Guru and later was made available digitally. To celebrate "Scotch Heart", I played a live set at a club in Edmonton, Canada, called the Artery. The space has since closed due to redevelopment of the city's downtown.

Recently, Edmonton filmmaker, collaborator and friend, Kyle Armstrong, suggested that I release my live performance from 2011 at the Artery. As I thought about this, I realized that I played my first live set as an experimental artist in 2004 at Studio E, a small arts space located in the same building as the now closed Artery. Last winter, I photographed the doorway of this well loved, slightly hidden and obscure venue on 35mm film before the building was demolished. The red doorway, pictured on the album's cover, acts as an opening to enter and experience the live set that I performed that evening in 2011.

Of course of I've come across the name and listened to the well-respected works of Mark Templeton for years, yet for some reason never fully connected with them. Enter 'Ocean Front Property', something about this album, the rumbling, soft-edged production, the plump, meaty basslines, the subtle off-world tropical moods... all come together perfectly. I think Templeton's visions have finally clicked for me, look forward to revisiting his back-catalog with this new found appreciation. Lost Tribe Sound
